This Bloody Mary Margarita is the ideal choice for a leisurely brunch or an afternoon sip. Its velvety tequila and smoky chipotle make it a margarita lover’s delight.
I was intrigued by the concept of a bloody margarita, a cross between a margarita and a bloody mary, and decided to try it out for myself. Some recipes include orange in the mix, but I felt it would interfere with the tomato flavor. Instead, a few drops of orange bitters added an extra layer of flavor without compromising the drink’s color.
To make it my own, I added my favorite chipotle hot sauce and a hint of liquid smoke for a subtle yet smoky kick. This savory concoction is the perfect accompaniment to any brunch.
While I’m not a fan of excessive garnishes, a few simple additions can enhance the drink’s flavor. I suggest keeping it minimal with gherkins, olives, cherry tomatoes, pepperoncini, herbs, and lemon. Experiment to discover your preferred garnishes.
