The Playa Tamarindo cocktail transports you to the sun-kissed beaches of Mexico by blending the flavors of tamarind, agave and Tajín centered around its habanero vodka spotlight.
About The Distiller
Hanson of Sonoma’s habanero vodka mixes seven varieties of locally sourced peppers before it’s hand-chopped and long-soaked in their Organic Original Vodka. Made with love, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill syrup or chili powder mixture. Nothing about the brand is ordinary in today’s world of spirits. This family-run company thrives on making organic, non-GMO, grape-based, gluten-free vodkas in Sonoma wine Country. Fit for the conscious cocktail drinker, looking for healthier alternatives, Hanson of Sonoma ensures that all grapes are hand-peeled and locally sourced, with no pesticides or artificial flavoring used.
The Cocktail
Hailing as the trifecta of Mexican flavor profiles, tamarind, agave and tajín, when combined make for a powerful sip. The tamarind has been used around the world for centuries, from chutneys in India to sweets in El Salvador and even cocktails in Mexico. Tangy, with a caramel subtext, the tamarind fruit delivers a sour-y sweetness. This well-crafted libation offers everything from heat, spice, a citrusy sweetness, and a lasting lemongrass finish.
Whether it’s to switch up taco night, escape your wintery reality, or sip something new poolside in the summer, we’re sure this playful drink will teleport you beachside in a heartbeat.
