You Should Be Drinking: Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay ’22

Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay

The Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay ’22 is an unapologetically classic expression of a California Chardonnay. And that’s exactly why it is a wine you should be drinking right now.

Rombauer Carneros Chardonnay

About the Winemaker:

In 1980, Koerner and Joan Rombauer, a couple with a shared passion for wine, founded the acclaimed Rombauer Vineyards. Set in the heart of America’s wine country, the vineyards have been diligently producing exceptional wines from several esteemed regions – Napa Valley, Sonoma County, the Sierra Foothills, and the Santa Lucia Highlands, for over four decades.

Rombauer Vineyards remains a family-held venture to this day, with a deep commitment to maintaining the rich legacy initiated by its founders. Not just the superior quality of wines, it is also renowned for its carefully chosen vineyard sites. These locations, each with unique terroir, lend to the complexity and distinction found in every bottle of Rombauer wine.

Why?

Don’t come running to Rombauer looking for unoaked, funky Chards. Nu-huh! This is not your trendy, modern winery with ironic labels and wines that go in all directions at once. Nope, no Sir. At Rombauer, the labels look like they are 40 years old (they are) and the wines taste like every single grape has been on oak barrels (they have).

And you know what?

I love it, and I don’t care what anyone else thinks, or what the prevailing trend in the industry is. This is like driving a Rolls Royce when everyone else is riding around in their silly looking Teslas thinking they’re special. But the Rolls is more comfortable. It rides smoother. It smells better, and it looks so much better. Rombauer celebrates tradition, and I think that’s worth celebrating. I’ll let the kids drink the modern stuff, and I’ll keep being grateful for the classics. This is definitely a wine You Should Be Drinking.
